Bright Horizon students not only improve their riding skills, but also participate in mounted games, learn to interact with other riders, and assist with the grooming and tacking of their horses. All of these activities help achieve or improve:
-Overall muscle tone, strength and flexibility
-Coordination and balance
-Language and communication skills
-Increased ability to process information
-Self esteem, self confidence and social skills
-A meaningful rider/equine bond that will always be remembered
Therapeutic riding can also reduce anxiety, encourage interactions (of all kinds) and provide riders with a sense of empowerment, achievement and responsibility. Not to mention the welcomed respite that a riding class can provide both a rider and his or her guardian. For many of our program participants, a weekly class at Bright Horizon is a much anticipated break from their day-to-day routines.
